Why did the Nazis use gas chambers instead of just shooting or beheading the Jews, blacks, and homosexuals?


Because the Nazis noticed that if soldiers shot men, women and children every day, they would break down psychologically and become alcoholics.


Forget the movies, in the two world wars the soldiers fought too far away to know if they had shot someone let alone knowing that they had killed him, in addition the shootings as a death sentence were not so frequent and in any case one of the rifles was loaded with blanks, therefore no one could know if it was he who had killed the convict.

The Nazis originally shot prisoners from the killing fields, but no matter how much indoctrination you can do, nobody wants to spend their days shooting unarmed people, the psyche breaks down, so the Nazis figured out a way to kill people without the executioner sees those people die, since he doesn't deal with burning corpses and so the soldiers managed to do their extermination without too many moral burdens.

Frederick Foreman - Henry Pierrepoint’s last hanging. 45 year old Frederick Foreman had been living with his girlfriend, 43 year old Elizabeth Eley for some time in a disused railway carriage in a field at East Hall Farm at Church Lane, Wennington near Grays in Essex, the farm where they both worked. WWI Russian Expeditionary Force in France From Russia to the Western Front. The Russian Expeditionary Force was a World War I military force sent to France by the Russian Empire. In 1915 the French requested that Russian troops be sent to fight alongside their own army on the Western Front. Initially they asked for 300,000 men, an absurdly high figure, probably based on their assumptions about Russia's 'unlimited' reserves.  General Mikhail Alekseev, the Imperial Chief of Staff, was opposed to sending any, though Nicholas II finally agreed to send a unit of brigade strength. The First Russian Special Brigade finally landed at Marseille in April 1916.
