In 1987,  Anthony “Tony Roach” Rampino, referred to by Federal prosecutors as a hitman for Gambino boss John Gotti, was sentenced to 25 years to life for heroin trafficking.

Rampino was a loyal associate but could never become a “made” guy because he was a hardcore drug user.

Gotti looked the other way on the drugs. Rampino even lived above Gotti's Bergin Hunt & Fish Club.

In 1980, Rampino was part of the hit team that abducted and killed Gotti neighbor, John Favara after Favara accidentally drove over and killed Gotti’s teenage son Frankie who was riding a mini-bike in the street.

In 1985, Rampino was a back up shooter on the hit team that killed Paul Castellano for Gotti.

One investigator said of Tony Roach,  "He's as Mafia as a guy gets without being a made member.”
